How does better air quality help reduce the transmission of COVID-19?

Organizations can use their real time CO2 and particle measurements to take quick action to maintain a healthy space. Real time measurement allow you to modify ventilation, filtration, and occupancy as needed to keep spaces safe for and increase utilization by:

Improving outdoor air exchange by opening windows or increasing HVAC flow rates

Ensuring the proper filters are being used and are clean

Utilizing localized filtration or disinfection systems

Temporarily reducing occupancy until the above improvements are made

What is a 'good' level of CO2?

The Centers for Disease Control generally considers any site with CO2 levels above 1200 ppm 'inadequately ventilated.'

Why not just do a one time or periodic check of air quality?

The problem with the current methods is that most schools have no way to verify that the precautions they are taking are actually effective. Facilities don’t have a way to continuously measure their facility’s air quality so occupants know the area has proper ventilation and filtration, and is therefore a safe place to work, learn, or visit.

Can I use Zeptive's sensors for other purposes after the pandemic has ended?

Yes, the sensors can easily be repurposed for long term air quality monitoring, including compliance with federal, state, or local requirements. They are also easily repurposed for vape detection. Depending on the model initially purchased, there is a zero or low cost for reconfiguration.

    • Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

      • Measuring Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a good proxy for how well your ventilation system is working for a certain space and occupancy level - Critical during COVID-19

      • Overexposure to carbon dioxide can impair focus, decision-making, and productivity.

    • Particulate Matter (PM)

      • Measuring Particulate Matter (PM) is a good proxy for how well your filtration system is working - Critical during COVID-19

      • Particulate matter (PM) can trigger health problems like asthma and allergies.

    • Volatile Organic Chemical (VOC)

      • Harmful chemicals can be found in your air and can cause respiratory and skin irritation.

    • Temperature

    • Humidity

Some questions you will want to consider:

What are the alert notification options available?

App

  • Individuals who have access to the App can receive notifications via the App and see the status of all of their systems.

Audible

  • The Zeptive Indoor Air Quality Monitor offers an audible alarm that can be:

    • Turned ON or OFF in the App

  • The audible alarm can be used for both IAQ alarms and tamper alarms

  • Individuals can view LED color changes for system status

Ease of Install and Use

How do I install my Zeptive Indoor Air Quality Monitor?

There is a pre-installation meeting with the customer's account manager that:

  • Reviews the places the units will be installed, including a virtual walk-around

  • Discusses the desired type of installation: WiFi, Cellular, Battery or Wired

  • Reviews the physical structure of the building(s)

  • Reviews the organizational structure to ID the people who will receive system alerts (IAQ, battery, and/or tamper)

 

After the meeting:

  • The customer receives units in a box by UPS/Fedex.

  • The units are ready to be placed on the wall, and have been pre-configured for the customer’s WiFi or Cell service, in locations already determined in the pre-installation meeting.

  • The customer then drills holes in the wall with our provided template and attaches them to the wall.

  • At that point the units begin learning and calibrating to the ambient environment

  • In a few days, the systems are ready for active use.

How long does it take to install my Zeptive Indoor Air Quality Monitor?

Approximately 5 minutes per unit (if they have the right tools like a drill and bits). All hardware is provided.

How many people / what level of technical expertise is required for installation?
  1. Hardware: Regular maintenance staff. No special skills required.

  2. Software: Any administrator can use the web console or apps.

  3. Connection to WiFi: IT staff (if the units are not pre-configured by Zeptive)

How is my Zeptive Indoor Air Quality Monitor maintained and monitored?
  • In our standard product, the units are powered by a wall outlet.

  • In our battery operated product, the units are powered by rechargeable batteries.

    • When it is time for the batteries to be replaced, the customer receives a low-battery alert by text message or on their app.

    • The maintenance staff then removes the discharged battery, and replaces it with a charged standby battery. It is a very easy process and takes only a few minutes.

  • The sensors have a 8-year lifetime

  • The system’s software and device updates automatically

  • There is a sensor on each device that can tell if someone has tampered with the unit, i.e. touched it.

  • If there is an IAQ or tamper alert, the customer can receive alerts on their phone App and/or with a text message, email, and/or alert on their computer. There is also a three color LED and an optional audible alarm.

  • The people who receive alerts, the type of alerts they receive, and pausing alerts are all included with the product.
