Zeptive Software Update Boosts Vape Detection Performance and Adds New Features

The upcoming firmware update, v1.33.500, delivers substantial improvements in detection performance while introducing new safety monitoring features and expanded security system integrations.

Three New Alert Categories

Loitering Detection: Flags prolonged presence, which is typically over 10 minutes.

Enhanced Environmental Monitoring:
Detects airborne chemicals and VOC spikes.
Monitors for threshold temperature changes.
All alerts use environmental sensing, no cameras, facial recognition, or biometrics.
Seamless Security Dashboard Compatibility
Firmware v1.33.500 integrates with Bosch BVMS, Digital Watchdog, i-Pro, Milestone XProtect, Wazo, and other platforms. Alerts now appear directly in existing security dashboards, enabling centralized monitoring alongside cameras and access control.
Faster Detection & Fewer False Alarms
Updated algorithms analyze rapid changes in sensor readings to detect events faster, such as vaping or chemical spikes. Enhanced alert logic reduces false positives, ensuring staff are only notified of real incidents for quicker responses.
Free Upgrade for Customers
Available April 10, 2026, this update is free for customers with Zeptive’s custom communications module (units sold after November 2023). Devices purchased earlier can be upgraded, contact Zeptive for a quote.
