Why Zeptive is the Best in Vape Detector Security & Privacy

Zeptive Vape Detectors

Security and Privacy Aren’t Optional —
They’re Essential

At Zeptive, we understand that when it comes to safety and air quality monitoring, security and privacy aren’t optional; they’re essential. That’s why we've built our entire platform with these standards and values at the core. From how our devices work to how we handle your data, Zeptive delivers best-in-class protection with transparency, control, and integrity.

Privacy
First

Privacy isn’t just a feature; it’s our foundation. Our products do not record sound or conversations in any way. For customers who choose to add the optional sound meter, it’s important to know that it only measures real-time decibel levels. Your environment stays private, always.

Device Security

Zeptive devices run on a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) built on a lightweight Linux kernel. By loading only the essential tools and libraries, we reduce exposure to vulnerabilities often introduced by unused software. Our system has also been independently tested and confirmed to be free from known vulnerabilities.

Cloud
Security

Security continues in the cloud. Every communication between your devices and the Zeptive Web Console is encrypted using the latest Transport Layer Security (TLS). Access is tightly controlled through granular permissions, verified email accounts, and device-specific authentication tokens.

App and Console Security

Zeptive mobile and web applications are built with security in mind. Authentication is handled through verified email and password, with passwords encrypted client-side before they are transmitted to the cloud.

Passwords are never stored or transferred in plain text. We’ve implemented additional protection, including temporary lockouts after repeated failed login attempts from the same IP address, to defend against brute-force attacks.

Protection of Personal Data

Zeptive’s cloud backend is fully SOC 2 compliant, meaning we meet stringent standards in five critical areas: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

We do not store any student data, neither on the device nor in the cloud. Faculty participation is strictly opt-in, requiring verified usernames and passwords. To avoid storing personal faculty information, organizations can also use a group email that forwards alerts through institutional systems.
