Device Shutdown & Storage Guide

This summer, several customers asked about the proper shutdown and storage procedures for Zeptive vape detectors, so we’re sharing this important guidance to help.
Here is key guidance on the proper inspection, shutdown, and storage of your Zeptive vape detectors based on your device type. If you need further assistance, contact us at [email protected].
Before proceeding with any shutdown or storage procedure, you may wish to disable the tamper buzzer. You can do this by:

The Zeptive mobile app, or
-
Placing the device in Maintenance Mode using the supplied magnet.
Battery-Powered Devices
Power Down
-
Remove battery door with a T10 Torx driver

Slide power switch to OFF (O)

Remove the main battery
-
Reattach the door. Device can stay mounted.
Cleaning
-
Check for damage or defacement
-
Wipe exterior with isopropyl alcohol (avoid sensor slots)
Battery Storage
-
Inspect for damage before charging
-
Store fully charged in a cool, dry place
-
Ensure battery is OFF (O)
-
Tip: Recycle batteries at retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Staples
PoE Wireless Devices
Power Down
-
Open battery door and switch OFF (O)

Reattach the door (device can stay mounted)
Battery Note

Remove battery if converted from wireless
-
Store fully charged batteries in a dry, cool place

Recycle units responsibly
Cleaning
-
Inspect and clean exterior carefully
AC /
Mains-Powered Devices
Power Down
-
Turn switch OFF (O)
-
Unplug AC adapter and dismount device

Disconnect adapter from micro-USB
-
Store adapter in battery bay, remount device
Battery Note

If device was converted from battery, remove the battery

These batteries can be reused as power banks
Cleaning
-
Inspect and clean with alcohol wipes, avoiding sensor areas
PoE Wired Devices
Power Down

Open battery door, switch OFF (O)

Close and secure door
