Does this model require batteries?

No. This model is powered exclusively via Power over Ethernet (PoE). It draws power from your network switch, meaning there are no batteries to charge or replace, ever.

 

What kind of cabling do I need?

The Zeptive Wired Detector works with standard CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cables. It connects via a standard RJ45 port on the back of the unit.

 

Is it difficult to install?

Installation is standard for any network endpoint. It typically requires running a cable to the location (drop ceiling or hard ceiling) and mounting the backplate. If cabling is already present, installation takes minutes.

 

Can I use this on a non-PoE switch?

To power the unit, you must have a PoE-enabled switch or use a PoE injector (sold separately) if your switch does not support PoE. Alternatively, the unit may be powered by USB.

 

Does this integrate with my VMS (Video Management System)?

Yes. Zeptive integrates seamlessly with major Video Management Systems, allowing you to correlate vape alerts with video footage for a complete security picture.
